Chocolate was discovered by the mayans and they made chocolate with cacao seeds like a drink . Mayan chocolate was very different than the chocolate we know today. It was a liquid made from crushed cocoa beans, chili peppers, and water. (There was no sugar in Central America.) They poured the liquid from one cup to another until a frothy foam appeared on top. Also the mayans had it on rare occasions . It wasn’t taken every week or every month and in some cases everyday like we do today ! Now what the european settlers made was with milk and sugar ! the effect is very different and is a poisonous concoction which not only increases vata in the body but also creates havoc with our nervous system . How ? Initially the chocolate dilates our blood vessels giving us pleasure and secretes adrenalins but after sometime it dilates it so much that the vessels become overdilated and crooked making it difficult for the body to drain out the vata from our system . Thus making it the prime reason for panic attacks , anxiety , nervous breakdowns and cognitive behavioural problems .
Chocolate today is used in health drinks of kids and cereals , plus the consumption of chocolate confectionaries has dramatically increased causing nervous issues in kids and even adults . The effect is so detrimental that it takes years to reverse . So stay away or take chocolate once a month never more than that . Even the mayans knew it wasn’t good for health . So it was seldom used except for occasions and made very differently compared to how its made today .
Science needs to be more than just the chemical composition of the foods but also the effect it has on the body and more so after digestion … most food products are researched by the industry and are paid for … now u know why chocolate is pushed as a great super food whereas it is a super poison !!
