Allopathy vs. Ayurveda

Factors Allopathy Ayurveda
Definition Allopathy is based on the treatment of disease by conventional means,i.e. with drugs having effects opposite to the symptoms. Ayurveda is based on the idea of balance in bodily systems and uses diet, herbal treatment, and yogic breathing.
Approach Allopathic practitioners are limited by what they can do because they only focus on the symptoms not the causes. Ayurveda is a complete naturalistic system that depends on the diagnosis of your body's humours - vata, pitta and kapha to achieve the right balance.
Side effects The name and its derivation suggest that this is a system of side effects. This is a completely natural process, hence no side effects!
Wholesomeness Allopathy is a system of physical health where they believe in surgeries & operations in the name of treatment and doesnt focus on curing the problem. Ayurveda talks about complete wellness-physical, psychological, spiritual as well as social wellness. For Ayurveda wellness is a complete package, not a scattered issue.
Natural Modern day medical sciences understand the value of being natural, but these have no natural aid for the body. They constitute chemicals and synthetic substances only. Ayurveda is completely natural and it believes that to follow the nature is the only way to achieve the complete wellness.
Therapeutic
Level
On therapeutic level, these medicines are only symptoms supressor. These talk about the treatments and management but hardly think about the cure and repair. Ayurveda considers cure of a disease as the only way to go for the treatments. According to Ayurveda there cannot be less than the cure in a medical science.
Root Cause The focus on parts, disease and symptoms has earned the allopathic medicine system the title of disease care, rather than health care as less importance is given to knowing the root cause. Ayurveda understands the root cause first and then applies the same understanding to root out the disease from the body, this is the reason Ayurveda achieves the complete wellness and a state of cure.
Diet & Lifestyle Modern day sciences don’t have any specific guidelines about diet and lifestyle. Ayurveda is all about how to live life. So diet and lifestyle are main concerns of Ayurveda.
Complete Eradication As modern sciences believe in suppressing the signs and symptoms, these never appreciate to remove the disease causing factors from the body. Ayurveda considers that until and unless the disease causing factors are not completely removed from the body, diseases will keep on popping up again and again.
